Adventure Holidays is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (no.1173301). Our constitution states that our object is to enable children and young people in North East England, who we define as being aged 19 years or younger, to have a holiday and who would not otherwise have the opportunity to get away for one, through lack of resources or because of personal or family circumstances. All guests must include, and be primarily for the benefit of, children and young people who meet this definition.
Those in charge of a school, group or family visiting Daleby House will have and understand the contents of these Terms & Conditions.
The leaders/adults among the guests are responsible for the care of the children and young people with them and have appropriate safeguarding and fire safety provisions in place. We invite visits on the basis that all schools and groups will have and follow their own safe-guarding policies and that families will be responsible for the children and young people in their care. Adventure Holidays has a Fire Safety policy for the guidance of guests: this may be found on this website under the heading ‘Policies’ and can be provided separately on request.
Guests must comply with any government public health regulations that may be imposed. Guests must inform Adventure Holidays immediately if a guest contracts any condition or disease covered by such regulations, and the whole party must leave Daleby House as soon as possible.
Guests will ensure that Daleby House is in a properly clean, tidy and good order at the end of the visit, with all equipment put back in its usual place, any breakages, losses and malfunctions will be reported and/or put right. The Trustees expect that all guests will accord proper respect to the facilities and leave the house in the best condition possible for the next guests. Trustees may make visits during or after a visit, to ensure optimum standards are maintained for all our guests.
Guests must collect and return the keys at the times agreed in advance. It is essential that guests contact the keyholder at least 2 weeks before your visit, to arrange mutually convenient times to collect and return the keys.
Guests are required to follow the practical matters set out in section 2 below, Visiting Daleby House in 2024. Please note that there is a strict requirement for No Smoking and No Vaping anywhere on the premises, outdoors as well as indoors, and no pets are allowed. We will let you know if additional measures must be introduced to safeguard against infection.
Visiting Daleby House in 2024
The accommodation provided is described under the heading “Accommodation”, where there is also advice on how to get to Beadnell.
There are 10 single beds at Daleby House. Guests must bring sheets or sleeping bags, pillows, pillow cases, tea towels, toilet rolls and anything which requires laundering or is consumed.
Please do not bring pets. Some guests have brought pets in the past, causing considerable discomfort to subsequent visitors who are allergic to animals.
Guest must ensure that they arrange key collection well in advance, and do not arrive at Daleby House before the time agreed with Adventure Holidays.
The Trustees request that guests do not deep fry. Deep frying has caused damage to the decoration and is potentially dangerous. Children are only allowed in the kitchen when they are accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult.
Please do not bring irons to Daleby.
Emergency exits are signed and lit – please make sure they are always clear, and available for use in an emergency. Ensure you have made an evacuation plan in the event of an emergency (see separate Fire Safety policy referred to above, at 1.3).
The Accident Book is kept in the kitchen. However, guests are strongly required to bring their own first aid supplies to suit their own needs.
If there is any evidence of breakage or damage when you arrive, please notify one of the Trustees immediately. Any breakage or damage during your visit should also be reported when the keys are returned, and if possible, made good or repaired.
Please put the bins outside the gate and bring back in after collection the next day, as set out in the instructions in the kitchen.
Our drains can get blocked quite easily, therefore there is an outdoor tap located at the rear of the house to wash down sandy feet, buckets and spades etc. for your convenience. Thank you for your cooperation.
Guests are welcome to use the back garden for barbecues, etc., and the outdoor play area. Please bear in mind and respect the amenities of neighbouring residents.
Before you leave, please:
Empty and clean the fridge – please make sure the door is shut. Please leave no food in the house.
Empty and wash out the waste bin
Empty the vacuum cleaner
Wash and put away all cutlery, crockery, etc.
Bag any rubbish and put it in the wheeled bins
Check you have not left any personal items
While it is a kind gesture, please do not leave toys, fishing nets, balls, etc. for other guests
Leave Daleby in good order and as you would wish the next guests to find it.
Local contacts are listed on the Notice Board. Trustees to contact in an emergency are Jane McFadyen (07712 650 421) and Jennifer Chart (07808 070 780). The Child Protection ~ Designated Person is Jane McFadyen (07712 650 421).
At the end of your visit, leave promptly by the time agreed in advance, and return the keys straight away (they will be needed by future guests).
Please hand in the Return and Feedback Form (AH3) with the keys, so that we may know how Daleby is being used and be able to address any shortcomings. Alternatively, fill in the form online, while your memory is still fresh!
Donations – it is our policy that all guests can use Daleby free of charge. If you are able to make a donation, it will be much appreciated.
